Intuition and research reflex


I assume that in each of us, Dear Readers, the moment we heard the news about patient "O" in Poland, something sparked. Fear, curiosity, stoic calm and the response "it had to come", or something else. This does not change the fact that we first had to deal with it personally, in a private perspective, what it threatens me with, what it entails for me. This is rational, sensible and obvious. However, the nature of an academic, a social researcher, a researcher in general, carries us further, submits to us various intuitive additions and scenarios, which, to our own surprise, we witnessed more and more often. The awareness, based on our knowledge, of social reactions, processes and directions, in which the development of events could go, had to find an outlet in our individual, sometimes collective research reflection. So as not to sleep the moment - after all, such a moment "time of plague" does not happen very often, so we are in statu nascendi and it is tempting to enter it...
